Ride Requirements and Safety 🛡️
Each ride has specific height, restraint, and seating requirements designed to keep guests safe. In some cases pregnancy, certain injuries, disabilities, or medical conditions may affect whether a guest can safely access an attraction.
For this reason, some rides may not be suitable for all guests. Where this occurs, our friendly team will work with you to identify appropriate alternatives and provide clear guidance to help you plan your visit.
Rider Suitability Check-in ✔️
One of the key roles of our team is to assist guests to plan their day on an individual basis and determine which attractions can be undertaken safely.
Our team considers:
- The unique features of each ride
- Safety and manufacturer guidelines
- Your comfort, mobility, and confidence
- Safe seating, restraints, and evacuation needs
This personalised approach helps us recommend the attractions that are right for you – so you can focus on having fun.
What to Expect During a Check-in 📝
If you let us know about a disability, injury, or medical condition, one of our trained team members will take a moment to talk with you and understand your needs.
They will:
- Discuss any safety considerations relevant to our rides
- Explain any ride requirements in clear, simple terms
- Work with you to identify suitable attractions
The process is designed to be straightforward, supportive, and focused on your safety and comfort.
Our aim is to provide practical guidance so you can enjoy your visit with confidence.
Approved to Ride & Access Support 🤝
Following an assessment, guests may be issued with:
- An Approved to Ride Card and wristband, outlining suitable attractions
- An Attraction Access Card (where applicable), to support queue management
Our team will explain how to use these to ensure smooth and safe access to rides.
The Sunflower Program 🌻
Luna Park Melbourne also proudly supports the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program, assisting in recognising guests with hidden disabilities so that they can feel better supported during their visit.
